ATTENTION!! THE DEPT. IS CLOSING FOR RE-MODEL!!!
The Dept is currently closed for a streetcourse remodel. We will be re-opening May 20th in the evening to host a demo by the entire Girl and Antihero skateboard teams. The demo will start @ 6:00pm and we’ll have more info about it in the coming weeks. We originally planned on remodeling the park in May but once we found out we would have the opportunity to host an epic demo like this we moved our timeline up. Cal’s Pharmacy will be open and operating as usual. People interested in signing up for Summer Skate Camps can do so by phone by calling 503.233.1237, emailing The Dept. at info@departmentofskateboarding.com or stopping in to Cal’s Pharmacy. Keep checking back to the website for updates on course progress. After 3 years on the current course, it’s time to do some tweaking. We’ll see everyone in a few weeks.

I really want a 2 stair handrail that would be sick. i need to do a handrail, and if they made a small handrail on like a 2 or 3 i would totally do it.

Yay for the remodel, I’m sure it will be nice. Boo for the CLOSED! I just moved here and was looking forward to trying out that bowl. It’s been 3 days since I skated and I already feel all awkward. Are there any other indoor pools here? Any suggestions on other good pools on Portland?

Dude, i am so phyced on the remodel! but you should get rid of the ski jump, add some like 1′ high ledges, some 5 and 6 stairs and a handrail down a 3. some gaps and step-ups to, and leave the seven. Peace out girl scout.

Just to clear things up for people, yes they have their plan (most likely blueprint) for it already (they decided on what plan they were gonna pick a week or two ago), but they’re just not gonna show us it. I’m thinking that they want it to be a surprise.
Also everyone talking about wanting to skate the bowl, you guys should learn to read, “The Dept will be closing Monday April 7th FOR A REMODEL OF THE STREET COURSE.” Take note at the part where it says STREET COURSE. Now is the bowl or the mini part of the street course? I think not.
